Peer Review Process

Journal of Business and Economic Perspectives (JBEP)

The Journal of Business and Economic Perspectives (JBEP) follows a rigorous, transparent, and fair peer review process to ensure the quality and academic integrity of all published research. Our peer review process is designed to provide constructive feedback to authors and ensure that only original and high-quality work is accepted for publication.

1. Initial Manuscript Screening

  • Upon submission, each manuscript is reviewed by the editorial team to assess its suitability with the journal’s scope, formatting guidelines, and overall quality.
  • Manuscripts that do not meet the basic criteria or contain serious ethical/plagiarism issues are desk-rejected.

2. Assignment to an Editor

  • Suitable manuscripts are assigned to an appropriate Section Editor or Associate Editor with subject expertise.
  • The Editor conducts a preliminary review and may suggest revisions before sending it for external peer review.

3. Double-Blind Peer Review

  • JBEP employs a double-blind peer review system, where both the reviewers and authors remain anonymous.
  • Each manuscript is sent to at least two independent reviewers who are experts in the field.
  • Reviewers evaluate the manuscript on criteria such as originality, relevance, methodology, clarity, and contribution to the field.

4. Review Outcomes

Based on reviewers’ feedback, the editor will make one of the following decisions:

  • Accept (with or without minor revisions)
  • Minor Revision
  • Major Revision
  • Reject

Authors are notified of the decision and provided with reviewers’ comments for revision if applicable.

5. Revision and Resubmission

  • Authors are required to revise the manuscript in line with reviewers’ comments and submit a revised version along with a detailed response letter.
  • Revised manuscripts may be re-evaluated by the same reviewers or editorial team.

6. Final Decision

  • The Editor-in-Chief or Section Editor makes the final publication decision based on reviewers’ recommendations and the quality of the revised manuscript.

7. Copyediting and Proofreading

  • Accepted manuscripts undergo professional copyediting, formatting, and proofreading before publication to ensure clarity, consistency, and accuracy.

8. Online Publication

  • The final, approved version of the article is published online in the next available issue of AJABSS and assigned a DOI.

Review Timeline

  • The entire review process typically takes 2 to 3 weeks, depending on the availability of reviewers and the time required for revisions.

Reviewer Guidelines

  • Reviewers are expected to provide objective, constructive, and timely feedback.
  • Confidentiality of manuscript content and reviewer anonymity is strictly maintained.
