Submissions Policy
The Asian Journal of Arts and Social Sciences (AJASS) is committed to maintaining the highest ethical standards in all stages of the publication process. The journal strictly adheres to international guidelines on ethical publishing practices, including those set by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).
- Duties of Authors
- Originality and Plagiarism: Authors must ensure that their work is original and free from plagiarism. All sources must be properly cited.
- Data Accuracy: Authors should present accurate and verifiable data. Fabrication, falsification, or misrepresentation of research data is unethical.
- Multiple Submissions: Authors must not submit the same manuscript to more than one journal simultaneously.
- Acknowledgment of Sources: Proper acknowledgment must be given to all persons and works that have influenced the manuscript.
- Authorship Criteria: Only individuals who have made significant contributions to the work should be listed as authors. All co-authors must approve the final manuscript.
- Disclosure of Conflicts of Interest: Authors must disclose any financial or personal conflicts of interest that could influence the work.
- Duties of Editors
- Editorial Independence: Editors must evaluate manuscripts based on academic merit, free of bias or external pressure.
- Confidentiality: Editors must protect the confidentiality of all submitted manuscripts.
- Fair Review: Editors must ensure a fair, unbiased, and timely peer-review process.
- Handling Misconduct: Editors are responsible for investigating and taking appropriate action in cases of suspected ethical misconduct.
- Conflict of Interest: Editors should not handle manuscripts in which they have conflicts of interest.
- Duties of Reviewers
- Confidentiality: Manuscripts received for review must be treated as confidential documents.
- Objectivity: Reviews should be conducted objectively, with constructive feedback and without personal criticism.
- Timeliness: Reviewers should complete reviews within the agreed timeframe.
- Acknowledgment of Sources: Reviewers should identify relevant published work not cited by the authors.
- Conflict of Interest: Reviewers should not review manuscripts if they have any conflicts of interest.
- Ethical Oversight
- AJASS will take corrective action when ethical breaches are identified, including issuing corrections, retractions, or expressions of concern when necessary.
- The journal upholds transparency and integrity in all stages of the publication cycle.
- Plagiarism Policy
- All manuscripts are checked using plagiarism detection software. Submissions with more than 15% unoriginal content (excluding references and commonly used phrases) will be rejected or returned for revision.
- Retraction Policy
- Articles may be retracted for major errors, ethical breaches, or scientific misconduct. A retraction notice will be issued and the article will be marked as retracted in the journal.
- Copyright and Licensing
- Authors retain copyright but grant AJASS the right to publish and distribute the work under the applicable open-access license.
